This place is absolutely extraordinary. And, with the fires of last December, the prairie grass is greener now than it will be for years to come. This is actually from a couple of days ago. There is no wifi in the park, as it should be. We head to Colorado Springs today, then Amarillo, then home on Wednesday.
The boys will be washing the van as soon as we get home.

That has been discussed more than once on this trip. That’s in California, though.

Go check out Garden of the Gods in Co Springs.
I heard there’s a famous racing mountain there, too ;)
But GotG is cooler.

Well, we’ve got PP on the agenda for tomorrow morning. Never heard of Garden of the Gods.

Colorado Springs is my old stomping grounds (well, Black Forest, a bit to the north) but I still MADE C-Springs my stomping ground back in the day. There is soooo much to do there; you touched on Pike’s Peak, but man you need to check out Garden of the Gods; wiki it. Also Cheyenne Mountain, Seven Falls, Cave of the Winds, the list goes on and on.....hope you enjoy it there.

We’ve only got the morning there since we are in our way home. Sounds like gotg is a better bet for a morning activity than PP.

Wow, I’m definitely adding that to my upcoming Lewis & Clark/ Oregon Trail redux.
And as you drive across the Texas-New Mexico border, in Texline, give a honk to my homies. Gracie Wonderfuls is a neat little cafe there too. Enjoy!

Play your cards right, you’ll drive past GotG on your way to the Peak. For first time visitors, the Peak is pretty cool. Plus the PPIHC is coming up in 2 weeks, I’m sure you will be able to see the prep for the race. May want to make sure the drive up is still open, however.
